The EHEF Central Asia and Asia project was present at the China Education Expo 2015 – CEE in Beijing (24-25th October) and Shanghai (31st October- 1st November), to support the EU institutions attending by promoting the benefits of studying in Europe. A total of 28,000 visitors attended the Beijing event over the two days and 17,000 attended the Shanghai event.
All the European higher education institutions were situated together in an EU zone and there was an EU booth manned by representatives from the Delegation of the European Union to China & Mongolia, where information was available on the range of study opportunities available to Chinese students.
A range of presentations was also given by institutions and national education agencies at both events, to educate visitors on the higher education systems and university admissions processes of EU member states.
In addition to the Expo, a Symposium on China-European Union Higher Education Cooperation was held on Friday 23 October in the China National Convention Centre, Beijing. This event brought together some 150 delegates from China and the EU to reflect on the achievements of cooperation in the higher education sphere, and to look forward to future opportunities for collaboration.
